Fajita Seasoning

I prefer marinated meat when it comes to fajitas, but if you are short on time and need a quick meal, sprinkle this seasoning on chicken or steak strips as you prepare them for dinner.  The nice thing about this mix is that you can make it up in bulk, if fajitas are common in your home, and store in in your pantry until you need it again.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tb cornstarch
  • 2 ts chili powder
  • 1 ts salt
  • 1 ts paprika
  • 1 ts sugar
  • 1/2 ts onion powder
  • 1/2 ts garlic powder
  • 1/4 ts cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 ts ground cumin

Method:

  1. Mix all ingredients and store.  To use, sprinkle to taste over meat (and desired veggies like peppers and onions) intended for fajitas.  I like to get a pretty thorough coat over all sides of the meat for good flavor.  Save your old spice jars and refill them with your homemade seasoning mixes – makes it so easy to sprinkle over everything.
