Farm Classes & Workshops

K7 Farm is the kind of farm that wants to help others learn how to become more self sufficient by teaching, inspiring and equipping you with skills you can use.   For dates of events, check our facebook page.  To schedule a class or ask questions feel free to contact me at 517-215-5150 or sarah@k7farm.com.  Pricing varies depending upon the class or workshop.

We currently offer scheduled and private classes for:

  • Bread Baking
  • Food Preservation (canning, freezing, dehydrating)
  • Canning (in depth teaching on waterbath and pressure canning)
  • Soapmaking
  • Maple Syruping (only in Jan/Feb)
  • Chicks 101 (raising chickens from chick to chicken, for meat or eggs)
  • Seed Saving
  • Whole Chickens 101 (how to cut up and use all the parts of a chicken)

And workshops are available for:

  • Deer Processing (You bring the deer, I will show you how to break it down as well as explain how to use the different cuts)
  • Chicken Butchering (Bring your own, or I can supply the chickens if it is during our chicken season and teach you the whole process of butchering chickens)
  • Bread Baking (a half day-long affair, we cover different types of yeast breads, make several types and make pizza for lunch)

Childcare can be arranged for most of these events, if scheduled in advance.
