This is a pretty basic, tame and classic stuffing recipe. This recipe makes enough to stuff approximately a 10lb turkey, or you can cook it in the oven as a side.
Ingredients:
- 1c sliced celery
- 1c chopped onion
- 1/4c melted butter (half a stick)
- 3/4c chicken broth
- 2tsp poultry seasoning
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 loaf of stale bread
Method:
- Preheat oven to 350F if you are baking this as a side.
- Saute celery and onion in butter over medium high heat until soft. Cut bread into bite sized cubes.
- Stir in broth, poultry seasoning, salt and pepper.
- Add bread to the broth and vegetable mixture, gently toss to coat all the bread. Stuff loosely into a turkey or cook in an uncovered casserole dish for 30 minutes.
