This is a pretty basic, tame and classic stuffing recipe.  This recipe makes enough to stuff approximately a 10lb turkey, or you can cook it in the oven as a side.


  • 1c sliced celery
  • 1c chopped onion
  • 1/4c melted butter (half a stick)
  • 3/4c chicken broth
  • 2tsp poultry seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 loaf of stale bread


  1. Preheat oven to 350F if you are baking this as a side.
  2. Saute celery and onion in butter over medium high heat until soft.   Cut bread into bite sized cubes.
  3. Stir in broth, poultry seasoning, salt and pepper.
  4. Add bread to the broth and vegetable mixture, gently toss to coat all the bread. Stuff loosely into a turkey or cook in an uncovered casserole dish for 30 minutes.
