Shepherd’s Pie

  • 1.5lb ground beef
  • 1/2 c chopped onion
  • 2tb butter
  • 3tb flour
  • 1tb Worcestershire sauce
  • 1tsp salt
  • 1tsp pepper
  • 6oz tomato paste
  • 1/2 c cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups mashed potatoes


  1. Brown ground beef with the onion.  Drain off fat and pour into a round casserole dish.
  2. Add remaining ingredients minus the mashed potatoes and mix to combine.
  3. Spread mashed potatoes over the top of the casserole.
  4. Bake 30 minutes at 325F.

These freeze well – reheat in the oven for about an hour.  You can also make mini-shepherds pies in muffin tins for individual serving sizes.
