This is a great base for many other sauces, or use as is to add creaminess to casseroles and skillet meals.
Ingredients:
- 2tb butter
- 2tb flour
- salt
- white pepper
- 1 cup milk
Method:
- Melt butter in a skillet over medium high heat. Once melted, add flour, salt and pepper and whisk until bubbly and cooked – it will begin to turn a slightly tan color. Add the milk slowly and continue whisking until thick, about 3-4 minutes more.
This freezes wonderfully. Freeze in plastic or glass containers once cool.
