Crunchy Taco Hamburger Skillet

This skillet meal is just like a certain boxed variety, but with ingredients you can pronounce and control.  It’s quick, easy, filling and satisfying in our home!


  • 1lb ground beef, browned
  • 1/2 small onion, diced
  • 1 taco seasoning packet or homemade equivalent
  • 1/2 c salsa
  • 1-3/4 c chicken broth
  • 1c rice
  • 1c shredded cheddar
  • Corn chips
  • Sour Cream


  1. Brown ground beef with diced onion, drain.  Return to skillet.
  2. Add taco seasoning, salsa, chicken broth and rice.  Bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, 15-20 minutes or until rice is cooked.
  4. Top with shredded cheese, corn chips and/or sour cream and enjoy!
