Crockpot Shredded Venison Sandwiches

Ingredients:

  • 1 boneless venison roast (2-4 pounds)
  • 1-1/2 cups ketchup
  • 3 tb brown sugar
  • 1 tb ground mustard
  • 1 tb lemon juice
  • 1 tb soy sauce
  • 1 tb liquid smoke, optional
  • 2 ts celery power
  • 1ts salt
  • 2 ts pepper
  • 2 ts Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 ts onion powder
  • 1 ts garlic powder
  • 1/8 ts ground nutmeg
  • Hamburger buns

Method:

  1. Cut the roast in half.  Place it in the crockpot.
  2. Combine remaining ingredients, with the exception of the hamburger buns, and pour over the roast.
  3. Place the lid on the crockpot and cook on low for 8-10 hours.
  4. Shred meat with two forks once it is done and mix everything up.  Serve on hot dog buns.
