Using A Whole Chicken

Event Start Date:
October 14, 2017
Event End Date:

Event Venue:
K7 Farm

Saturday, October 14 at 3pm.

A whole chicken is one of the most affordable meats you can buy, but most people don’t know what to do with them aside from roasting or crockpotting them whole!  Don’t let that stop you from purchasing whole chickens or even other chicken parts aside from the breast.  Whole chickens, thighs and drumsticks are often much less per pound than chicken breast and have so much more to offer your tastebuds.

In this class I will show you how to cut up a whole chicken and the very many ways you can use each piece including how to make chicken stock!  Using this information, you will feel confident buying and using whole chickens, or buying chicken parts aside from the breast.  We won’t ignore the chicken breast either – we will cover great ways to prepare those as well.

You will be provided one chicken during this class that you will cut up on your own.  Bags to transport the pieces home will also be provided.  You should bring a cooler with ice to transport the chicken home in. This class is scheduled for the afternoon so you can go home and cook this chicken using a new way you learned in the class!  I will be sending all students home with a little book detailing what you learned and how to use the different pieces of chicken including lots of recipes!

This class should take about an hour.  It is $25 per person.  Space is limited, so please register early.  If this time does not work for you but you would like to learn the information, I can arrange another opportunity.  Contact Sarah at sarah@k7farm.com or text/call 517-215-5150 to register.
