{"id":897,"date":"2015-04-01T04:59:03","date_gmt":"2015-04-01T04:59:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.k7farm.com\/blog\/?p=897"},"modified":"2016-12-23T04:39:28","modified_gmt":"2016-12-23T04:39:28","slug":"sausage-gravycountry-gravy-and-biscuits","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.k7farm.com\/blog\/?p=897","title":{"rendered":"Sausage Gravy\/Country Gravy and Biscuits"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This breakfast is a favorite with my husband. \u00a0He would eat it each morning if I prepared it for him.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1lb breakfast sausage, bulk<\/li>\n<li>2tb drippings<\/li>\n<li>2tb flour<\/li>\n<li>1-1\/2c milk<\/li>\n<li>salt and pepper to taste<\/li>\n<li>Something to serve over &#8211; <a title=\"Fluffy Biscuits\" href=\"http:\/\/www.k7farm.com\/blog\/?p=284\">biscuits<\/a>, eggs, toast, or grits are some favorites.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Method:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Brown the sausage in a skillet over medium high heat until all meat is cooked through and browned.<\/li>\n<li>Remove meat from the skillet and measure 2tb of drippings. \u00a0Of course, if you are feeding more than a person or two by all means double, triple the recipe, whatever you need to do.<\/li>\n<li>Melt the fat in the skillet over medium heat. \u00a0Add the flour and stir until the paste begins to turn a golden brown.<\/li>\n<li>Slowly pour in milk, whisking constantly.<\/li>\n<li>Add salt and pepper and return browned sausage to the gravy. \u00a0If gravy is too thick, you can add a little more milk to thin it out.<\/li>\n<li>Serve gravy over biscuits, eggs, toast, grits, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This breakfast is a favorite with my husband.
