Let these sit together to ‘foam’ or ‘proof’. The sugar will feed the yeast and make it start foaming in the water. This is what gives your bread its rise. If your yeast does not foam, your yeast may be too old.

Add vegetable oil, flour (start with 5 cups) and salt. Begin mixing until the flour is well mixed in. The dough should be able to form a ball. Continue adding flour until the dough is no longer so sticky that it sticks to your fingers. If you are using an electric mixer, the dough should have cleaned the sides of the bowl.

Knead about 10 minutes after your dough is easy to handle, if you are using a mixer you can reduce this time to 5 minutes. Then let it sit in a greased bowl, covered, until it has doubled in size. In a warm kitchen this may be as quick as half hour or so.

Punch down the dough and form how you want them. Then, bake according to the following applications:

Note – as I put together the following recipes, I will link them here so you have complete instructions.

Garlic Pull Apart Bread – 350F for 25 minutes or so.

Bread Bowls – 15 minutes +/- at 400F

Loaves ~ makes 2, bake at 350F for 20 minutes +/-

Pizza ~ makes 2 larges, divide into smaller balls to make more small pizzas. Bake at 450F for 7-10 minutes or until crust is golden and cheese is melted.
