{"id":1764,"date":"2017-11-01T04:36:14","date_gmt":"2017-11-01T04:36:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.k7farm.com\/blog\/?p=1764"},"modified":"2017-11-01T04:36:14","modified_gmt":"2017-11-01T04:36:14","slug":"grocery-budget-tips-tip-15-make-use-leftovers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.k7farm.com\/blog\/?p=1764","title":{"rendered":"Grocery Budget Tips: Tip 15 &#8211; Make Use of Leftovers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome back to the grocery budget series I am in the middle of writing.\u00a0 In this series, I will share the top 20 ways that I can think of that our large family uses to keep the grocery budget from getting out of line.\u00a0 To learn more, visit our<a href=\"http:\/\/www.k7farm.com\/blog\/?p=1671\">\u00a0introduction<\/a>.\u00a0 Here is tip 15:<\/p>\n<p><u>Make use of leftovers<\/u>: It seems silly, but, that one chicken finger left over, the bit of fries that isn\u2019t enough to feed us all again but is enough for a meal for one, the burrito filling that will fill another two burritos\u2026\u00a0 Store all of that for a \u201cthis and that\u201d meal.\u00a0 Everyone can have a bit of \u201cthis and that\u201d from the past few days \u2013 no new food is prepared and leftover food does not go to waste.\u00a0 Some of these leftovers could probably be frozen also, for a time when you have enough leftovers to feed your whole family a meal, if leftovers from a couple of days won\u2019t be enough.<\/p>\n<p>If there are enough or barely enough leftovers for another meal, consider ways that you can make a new meal using your leftovers.\u00a0 Maybe instead of eating leftover roast the next day, you can turn the roast into a shredded meat sandwich or a\u00a0 burrito, or cut it up and make a quick &#8220;beef bits and gravy.&#8221;\u00a0 Cut up leftover meatloaf into slices and make a yummy sandwich.\u00a0 Leftover turkey can go into a casserole or soup.\u00a0 Leftover <a href=\"http:\/\/www.k7farm.com\/blog\/?p=867\">corned venison<\/a> can be made into a breakfast hash.\u00a0 There are so many things you can do with leftovers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome back to the grocery budget series I am in the middle of writing.
