{"id":459,"date":"2014-12-17T05:03:18","date_gmt":"2014-12-17T05:03:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.k7farm.com\/blog\/?p=459"},"modified":"2016-12-23T04:39:22","modified_gmt":"2016-12-23T04:39:22","slug":"breaded-chicken-patties","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.k7farm.com\/blog\/?p=459","title":{"rendered":"Breaded Chicken Patties"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We always used to buy those long packages of breaded chicken patties that we could heat up and make a sandwich out of. \u00a0They were handy for quick meals and admittedly tasty. \u00a0But then I read the ingredients, and like many foods we once bought premade, we stopped buying them and I went on the search for something homemade with ingredients I could actually pronounce. \u00a0This was our solution. \u00a0 If you don&#8217;t have a meat grinder, the first time I made these I shredded raw chicken breasts in my food processor. \u00a0Perhaps not the best solution, but it worked.<\/p>\n<p>Ingredients:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2lb ground chicken<\/li>\n<li>2c whole wheat <a title=\"Breadcrumbs\" href=\"http:\/\/www.k7farm.com\/blog\/?p=461\">bread crumbs<\/a><\/li>\n<li>1\/2c milk<\/li>\n<li>1tb dry, minced onion<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tsp garlic powder<\/li>\n<li>2 eggs<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 ts cayenne pepper<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp salt<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 ts thyme<\/li>\n<li>Seasoned bread crumbs to coat patties<\/li>\n<li>4tb butter<\/li>\n<li>4 tb olive oil<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Method:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Combine ingredients from ground chicken down to thyme. \u00a0Mix well, and refrigerate. The mixture will be sticky. \u00a0Let the mixture chill about 30 minutes to an hour. \u00a0If you notice the mixture is crumbly and dry, you may add more\u00a0milk until it all starts to come together.<\/li>\n<li>Remove chicken mixture from the fridge and begin forming into patties. Coat the patties with bread crumbs on each side.<\/li>\n<li>Heat butter and oil over medium high heat, once skillet is hot begin cooking your patties. \u00a0Approximately 7 minutes per side.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>These freeze well once cooked and cooled. \u00a0You can reheat in the oven at 350F for about 15-20 minutes. \u00a0We enjoy these on hamburger buns with mayonnaise, lettuce and tomato.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We always used to buy those long packages of breaded chicken patties that we could heat up and make a sandwich out of.
