This is my go-to recipe for meals that call for an envelope of dry onion soup mix. We love to toss this with a cookie sheet full of peeled, cubed potatoes (bite sized) and enough vegetable oil to coat them evenly, then bake them in a 400F oven until soft – about 30-40 minutes or so. If you use a bouillon that is shelf stable and not refrigerated, mix up a big batch of this and store it in a mason jar in your cupboard. 1/4 c plus 2 1/4 tsp. equal one envelope.
Ingredients:
- 4 tsp beef bouillon
- 8 tsp dried onion flakes
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp pepper.
Method:
- Combine all ingredients. Use or store. To be honest, I’ve never turned this dry mix into a soup, so I couldn’t tell you how to do that 🙂 We just use essentially as a seasoning mix.
